Cybersecurity and self-hosting expertise from Copenhagen, Denmark.

About Peter Schneider

Peter Schneider

I am a cybersecurity professional and researcher based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with more than nine years of experience in information security, security advisory work, resilient infrastructure, open-source software, and practical automation.

My background includes security and risk assessments for applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments, vulnerability management, infrastructure hardening, network security, and the development of detection methods for cyber-physical systems. I hold a Dr. rer. nat. in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich, where my research focused on anomaly detection for cyber-physical systems.

The research page contains a selection of my publications. I have worked in research, consulting, and industrial information security, including security consulting projects, advising team leaders, and mentoring members of security teams of up to 32 professionals. On this blog, I write about the practical side of technology: what works, what fails, and what it takes to keep self-hosted systems useful and maintainable over time.

I run Nextlevel v/Peter Schneider from Copenhagen and work with clients in Denmark, the Nordic countries, the EU, and remotely elsewhere.

For security and infrastructure enquiries, explore my services or get in touch.
